Talkin’ Comic-Con: A Cup O’ Tea with An Englishman In San Diego
s05e26 (18th February 2018)
“…cats and dogs, living together – mass hysteria!!”
Madness! Yes, that’s how it sometimes feels when it comes to talking about comics at a modern comics convention – the criticism that Hollywood has taken over is a loud one and getting louder every year. But Leonard and Alyssa are here to remind you that comics and graphic novels remain a huge part of attending a convention, especially if it’s something that you want to get into a an interest. This week, we’ll be discussing the pros and cons of discovering new books at a convention, and the best places to look.
We’ll also be joined by Chris Ball from Forbidden Planet Wolverhampton to talk about the best contemporary books to read as an introduction to the art form as a beginner – what comics should you be reading if you’re just getting into them?
All of this, as well as the Week In TV and the latest con culture headlines – as always, it;’s going to be a fun show. We hope you can join us live!
TALKIN’ COMIC-CON: A CUP O’ TEA WITH AN ENGLISHMAN IN SAN DIEGO is the weekly San Diego Comic-Con and con culture live podcast, broadcasting every Sunday (6pm GMT / 10am PT / 1pm ET) and hosted by Leonard Sultana, joined by Alyssa Franks.
