Talkin’ Comic-Con: A Cup O’ Tea with An Englishman In San Diego
s05e07 (10th September 2017)
“Say kids! What time is it?…”
…it’s Howdy Doody Time! Okay, maybe not, and maybe we’re not looking at kids programming, but we’re certainly going to be taking a look back at a year and a half’s worth of similarly niche television, aimed specifically at the San Diego Comic-Con audience: COMIC-CON HQ.
Where has this subscription service, tailored for the SDCC demographic worked and where has it failed in its remit? Why hasn’t connected with the Comic-Con attendees at large? Where has it worked in terms of reaching out to the community and where can Comic-Con HQ go from here? Leonard Sultana, Alyssa Franks and very special guest Mark Searby take a look at the first steps of something that was aimed at us as Comic-Con fans.
Along with a review of ICE International Comic Expo in Birmingham this weekend and overviews of Singapore Toy Game and Comic Convention, Rose City Comic Con and HASCON, plus the weeks in Con and TV, and it should be a packed show – hope you can join us live!
TALKIN’ COMIC-CON: A CUP O’ TEA WITH AN ENGLISHMAN IN SAN DIEGO is the weekly San Diego Comic-Con International and con culture live podcast, broadcasting every Sunday (6pm GMT / 10am PT / 1pm ET) and hosted by Leonard Sultana, joined by Alyssa Franks.
Each week, the best bloggers on t’web talk about San Diego Comic-Con, about con & pop culture and, for an hour or so, we invite guests to talk to us and get nerdy and geeky about everything that orbits the Best Pop Culture Convention On The Planet!
YOU can watch and interact online, either by Twitter (tweeting with the hashtag #CupOTeaSDCC) or via the Hangout Event Q&A. Schedules permitting, Leonard will be joined by guests from the SDCC blogging community and some surprises!
Our Guests, this week:
- ALYSSA FRANKS, Friends Of Comic Con Forum
- MARK SEARBY
- …more exciting guests, to be announced!
If you have anything you’d like to have discussed in these Comic-Con shows, please put a suggestion in the comments – we’d love to hear what you’d like to talk about. And don’t forget to join in the conversation LIVE during the show, using the Q&A button in the video preview above or on Twitter (#CupOTeaSDCC)
See you all, this and every Sunday, at 6pm GMT… LIVE!
