Another weekend, another con… the amazing thing about con culture isn’t the fact that it has grown as fast as it has, it’s that it has adapted and evolved to accept all of these events in quite a seemingly organic manner.

That’s down to the various events across the globe making sure they carve their own little niches in the culture, establishing themselves with the guests they attract and the attendees that come to them. Two such events are showcased on this week’s episode.

NerdCon, held in Escondido CA, has staked its claim to being a small and dedicated celebration of pop culture with a focus on cosplay and community. Contributors Samantha Maybe and Dan Berry will be attending and will be joining us live to give us a peek into the sights and sounds of the con.

On the other side of the Atlantic, Shane Chebsey is organising the ICE: International Comic Expo, due to take place in Birmingham, UK on the 10th September 2016. ICE is definitely more comics-led and, being independently funded, presents its own challenges in getting up and running. Shane talks to us about what it actually takes to spin all the plates of a modern comic con and make it a success.

TALKIN’ COMIC-CON: A CUP O’ TEA WITH AN ENGLISHMAN IN SAN DIEGO is the weekly San Diego Comic-Con and con culture live podcast, broadcasting every Sunday (6pm GMT / 10am PT / 1pm ET) and hosted by Leonard Sultana, and joined by Alyssa Franks.

Each week, the best bloggers on t’web talk about San Diego Comic-Con, about con & pop culture and, for an hour or so, we invite guests to talk to us and get nerdy and geeky about everything that orbits the Best Pop Culture Convention On The Planet!

YOU can watch and interact online, either by Twitter (tweeting with the hashtag #CupOTeaSDCC) or via the Hangout Event Q&A. Schedules permitting, Leonard will be joined by guests from the SDCC blogging community and some surprises!

Our Guests, this week:

If you have anything you’d like to have discussed in these Comic-Con shows, please put a suggestion in the comments – we’d love to hear what you’d like to talk about. And don’t forget to join in the conversation LIVE during the show, using the Q&A button in the video preview above or on Twitter (#CupOTeaSDCC)

See you all, this and every Sunday, at 6pm GMT… LIVE!
