SDCC 2018: John Barrowman panel
There is no better way to start off a San Diego Comic-Con than to spend an hour with John Barrowman. The man is an all-round entertainer who, some might say, rivals Kevin Smith for his one-man shows. Turn up, sit back and listen to his (naughty) stories. It is almost impossible to write everything John said (and did) during his SDCC 2018 panel, so here are three highlights
- He debuted his new outfit called Captina Americana.
2. Told the story about having his appendixs out and the subsequent livestreaming of him high on drugs.
3. An audience member (dressed as Magnum P.I.) asked him if they could recreate the pose they did last year as nobody filled it. Barrowman obliged.
The were many other high points including John’s thoughts on the LGBTQ community during these uncertain times, some delightful words on why Jodie Whittaker will make a great Dr. Who and why he can’t do pot. The show culminated in Barrowman singing a couple of songs.
A John Barrowman panel is a truly unique experience and you don’t have to be a fan of his TV/Film work to have a great time. The show is a whirlwind of emotions and that’s just John. Watching Barrowman be himself on stage is an absolute delight and will leave you with tears in your eyes.
