Home Our Cup O' Tea ‘Agents Of SHIELD’ breaks all records for drama debut

our cup o teaLast night saw the impressive debut of the much-anticipated ‘Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD’, hauling in 11.9 million viewers and a 4.6 adults 18-49 rating, TV’s highest-rated drama debut in nearly four years.

This, of course, could be put down to the charasmatic science boffin double act of Agents Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge), two relatively unknown Brits who beat out hundreds of actors for the coveted roles.

But, more than likely, it could be attributed to the massive marketing campaign, riding off the back of the third-highest grossing movie of all time (‘The Avengers), the mysterious ressurection of lead agent, Phil Coulson, and the incredibly warm reception the show’s pilot recieved at San Diego Comic-Con in July.

The question will now remain as to whether the show can maintain this impressive debut in following weeks.
