Home News From The 'Verse Trailer: WESTWORLD reboot comes to Sky Atlantic this October

logo - our cup o' teaPERSON OF INTEREST may be barrelling a close in the immediate future but that doesn’t mean that co-creator/writer Jonathan Nolan has been resting on his laurels, teaming up with executive producers J.J. Abrams and Lisa Joy to come up with a new take on a 1973 cinema classic.

WESTWORLD was JURASSIC PARK before there was a Jurassic Park, written and directed by JP’s Michael Crichton, and telling the story of an amusement park, populated by life-life robots who malfunction and go on a relentless killing spree. In this 2016 reboot, however, it appears that the drive for the ‘droids to go all stabby is more rooted in a philosophical debate amongst the skinjobs about what it means to be alive and in ‘meeting your maker’ – more Nexus-6 than Windows ME.

The series features ANTHONY HOPKINS as Dr. Robert Ford, the brilliant creative director of Westworld; Evan Rachel Wood as Dolores Abernathy, a Western girl who discovers her entire life is an elaborately constructed lie; and James Marsden as Teddy Flood, a newly arrived gunslinger. Ed Harris takes on the menacing Man in Black role, originally played by Yul Brynner in the original, and THANDIE NEWTON provides the western glam as Maeve Millay, the beautiful and sharp madame of Westworld.

The show is being produced by HBO in the States and is scheduled to land on our side of t’pond on Sky Atlantic in October. No word yet on whether the series will be featured at this years San Diego Comic-Con but, let’s be fair, it’s the kind of thing that’s right up our street.
