Trailer: final tease for STAR WARS THE LAST JEDI before release – destinies collide between heroes and villains

Yes, Wonder Woman and Her Merry Band Of Super Powered Misfits may have had the fandom news cycle of the last 24hrs but there’s only one franchise that’ll get nerds watching sports. The eighth chapter in the STAR WARS saga, THE LAST JEDI, may only be a couple months away but that doesn’t mean that we can’t fit in one more trailer to whet the appetite of fans across the globe; it had been teased by Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill, a week or so back and now – courtesy of Monday Night Football – we take another step into a wider world.

It’s not looking good for our heroes. The destinies of Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and Rey (DAISY RIDLEY) are set to collide – and it’s looking like there’s going to be a whole host of casualties along the way. This is going to be one hell of an emotional rollercoaster that director Rian Johnson is delivering.

And we get a new poster, too, courtesy of the STAR WARS social media machine – fans are ecstatic to see Admiral Leia front-and-centre as a fitting tribute to the last appearance from the late Carrie Fisher. Expect much teary-eyed audience members when the film hits cinema screens on 15th December…

STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI is the eighth installment in the STAR WARS space opera franchise, written and directed by Rian Johnson. Produced by Lucasfilm and will be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, DAISY RIDLEY, JOHN BOYEGA, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, DOMHNALL GLEESON, ANTHONY DANIELS, GWENDOLINE CHRISTIE, ANDY SERKIS, and new cast additions Benicio del Toro , Kelly Marie Tran and Laura Dern. THE LAST JEDI follows the continuing story of scavenger Rey (Ridley) who follows her destiny to find recluse Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker (Hamill) – and into the path of adversary Kylo Ren (Driver). The film is scheduled for a U.S. release of 15th December 2017 – us Brits are expected to get it on the same day.
