ft Previews of FORTHCOMING COLLECTED TITLES for February, March and April

Each week, we take a look at the forthcoming 2000AD titles available in stores, and on digital, giving you a comprehensive guide to your weekly comics pull list.

It’s the weekly update for what 2000AD are planning for the week… and, to be fair, there’s only the weekly prog hitting the shelves:

  • PROG 1965 continues three truly excellent storylines featuring some old friends – JUDGE DREDD: GHOSTS has the manhunt for a murderous Judge leading very close to home; ABC WARRIORS: RETURN TO RO-BUSTERS features a flashback from one their finest, Hammerstein; and STRONTIUM DOG: REPO MEN sees Johnny Storm, determined to take it all back! Backed up by new chapters of KINGDOM: BEAST OF EDEN and THE ORDER: IN THE COURT OF THE WYRM-QUEEN, this prog packs a pretty powerful punch. RELEASED 27th JANUARY 2016

But, as well as the regular weekly issue, word reaches us of some stunning forthcoming collected volumes which we’ll preview below. Big stuff from the Galaxy’s Biggest Comic, on the way…

image - 2000AD (Goldtiger, cover)

GOLDTIGER

“Antonio Barreti and Louis Shaeffer’s GOLDTIGER, the iconic 60s comic strip that never was… until now! An obscure Italian artist and a down-to-earth British writer, worlds apart in both taste and ideology, came together to create a rival to Modesty Blaise that has lived in infamy. The duo s adventures of Lily Gold and Jack Tiger were ultimately deemed too sensational for the nation s newspaper pages and the strip was cancelled before it even ran.

This enthralling book presents ‘The Poseidon Complex’, the complete serial, lifting the lid on comics most unsung creation and includes letters, scripts, interviews and sketches all documenting the creation of the strip and the outlandish lives of its creators. It also presents ‘Goldtiger 2000’, offered to (but refused by) 2000 AD for its launch in 1977 and details Barreti’s continued refusal to let his groundbreaking ideas die, even if nobody wanted to publish them.”

SOONER OR LATER (US & UK)

“Peter Milligan, Brendan McCarthy, and Jamie Hewlett at their anarchic best! It’s 1986 in Thatcher’s Britain. The financial ‘big bang’ saw the rich get richer. Riots errupt in prisons across the country. And Micky Swift is still on the dole! Disillusioned with his dour existence in dreary Camden, Micky’s life is suddenly turned inside out, when he is plucked from the present and dragged into the 30th century as the property of one Mr & Mrs Katsbreath – a case of mistaken identity.

Unwanted, trapped in the future and still unemployable, If Micky wants to return home (time travel isn’t cheap you know!), sooner or later he will need to find a job!
