You’re not dreaming this; it’s not some Midichlorians, messing with your head. After all the let-downs of previous years and months of recent speculation and wishful thinking, starwars.com has confirmed that it’s actually happening: not only is Star Wars: The Force Awakens coming to San Diego Comic-Con, it’s bringing a full panel to the mighty Hall H!
“Lucasfilm president and producer Kathleen Kennedy, director J.J. Abrams, writer Lawrence Kasdan, and special guests” are promised to be in attendance for a Hall H panel taking place on Friday 10th July – there’s no confirmed time when this will take place as yet, which really puts the cat amongst the pigeons. (We get into that, here.)
But, beyond the Hall H announcement, there’s so much more being brought to SDCC – there’s a whole raft of SW panels being planned over the course of the Friday, taking on board the many elements of the Star Wars Universe, including publishing, toys, collectibles, video games and – rather excitingly – a special celebration of the extraordinary work of Industrial Light & Magic over the past forty years.
Of course, this does beg the very serious question: what does this do for your plans for Hall H, if any? Could this put paid to any ideas of attending the Warner Bros. panel on the Saturday? Would you prefer to see Batman kick Superman’s arse over Han Solo and Chewie? Or are you beast enough to do Hall H two days on the trot?? Comments below, if you wouldn’t mind!
