Home Con News SDCC 2018: Returning Registration Badge Sale date announced – Saturday 28th October

You can’t say that you haven’t been given plenty of notice: Comic-Con International have been dropping hints, via their Toucan Blog, that the Returning Registration Badge Sale – the sale of badges eligible to those who attended San Diego Comic-Con this past July – would be coming sooner rather than later. And so it is and so it comes to pass: clear your schedule for Saturday 28th October, 5pm GMT (9am PT / 12 Midday ET)!

That’s when the sale starts, mind: the Waiting Room for the Expo Logic badge buying process will be opening its doors one hour prior to that, for everyone who receives a code authorisation in their inbox, ‘shortly’. (Relax, you’ll also be able to find it in your CCI Member ID ‘Registration Info’ page, too, at least 48hrs before the Sale kicks off.)

The other big news is that we are also going to be getting an Open Online Badge Registration beofre the end of the year… yup, it’s all change at Comic-Con HQ this year. (No, not THAT Comic-Con HQ, the original Comic-Con H… y’know what, never mind.)

Tell you what, it might be easier for us to share the big news as brought to us direct from Comic-Con International – direct from the horse mouth, so to speak…

COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL REGISTRATION UPDATEDon’t get stuck in the Upside Down, or you’ll miss Comic-Con 2018 Returning Registration! The Expo Logic waiting room will open at 8:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on Saturday, October 28, for registration code authorization. The badge sale will begin shortly after 9:00 AM PDT. Your personal registration code and a link to the Expo Logic waiting room will be sent to you via email at least 48 hours in advance of the sale. If you do not receive your email, check with Barb or log in to your Comic-Con Member ID account and select the “Registration Info” tab. Your registration code and link to the waiting room will be available there at least 48 hour in advance.

Not sure what you’ll need to participate? Besides your registration code and a healthy breakfast of Eggos and chocolate pudding, you’ll need to make sure that your browser is compatible with the Expo Logic waiting room. We encourage you to read all of the Returning Registration info here and follow Professor Toucan this week and next for helpful hints and tips related to Returning Registration.

Buying badges for your friends? There’s no better way to celebrate Will’s return than by buying him a badge for Comic-Con 2018! Just make sure that he is eligible to participate. Each person must have their own Comic-Con Member ID and must be eligible to participate in Returning Registration. You may not purchase badges for others using your own Member ID.

It doesn’t matter if you’re in Hawkins, Indiana or San Diego, California … all badges will be shipped to the address on file in your Comic-Con Member ID account as of May 14, 2018. We are unable to ship badges to an international address. International attendees will be able to pick up their badge when they arrive onsite. We encourage you to log in to your Member ID account and review your shipping address on the “Contact Info” tab.

Whether you’re #TeamSteve or #TeamJonathan (swoon) we caution joining a badge buying group with someone you don’t know. Comic-Con is unable to intervene on your behalf should someone post your registration code or personal information online. Remember, each registration code is good for one entry into the waiting room only. Sharing your registration code could get you locked out.

And speaking of being locked out, make sure you arrive to the waiting room before 9:00 AM PDT on Saturday, October 28. The waiting room will close for entry at 9:00 AM PDT and you’ll be stuck outside with the Demogorgon. Hope you can roll a natural 20!

Remember, there are more eligible attendees than badges available during Returning Registration. Not everyone who enters the waiting room prior to 9:00 AM PDT will be selected for a registration session. If you are unable to purchase a badge during Returning Registration, you will be able to participate in Open Registration later this year. Yup, you heard that right. Open Registration will occur sometime in late 2017. Stranger things have happened!
