In the past few years, Virtual Reality (VR) interactions have become more and more prevalent at comic cons across the globe including San Diego, both on the Exhibition Floor and also at various off-site activations. This year, however, publisher eigoMANGA are taking it up a notch by bringing the comics reading experience into that virtual realm and showcasing it at next weeks San Diego Comic-Con.
As part of their attendance at SDCC, the company will be showcasing COMX VR, a new way of consuming comic books by placing them in a virtual space, using the VR platform of your choice. A demonstration of the system will be available on their booth, #1802, and, for one, will be eager to check it out. Sure, you’d have to pry my beloved monthly floppies out of my cold, dead hands but any method of getting comics and the art form in front of the eyeballs of potential customers, I’m all for.
Go and give ComX VR a spin, if you’ve got the chance to drop by their booth next week (I just like typing that San Diego Comic-Con is NEXT WEEK< PEOPLE!). And don’t forget to check out their Live Workshops on the booth throughout the whole convention, too. Busy, busy bees…

This year, eigoMANGA is proud to feature its mobile virtual reality comic app, ComX VR. eigoMANGA will also present its new comic book series based off the best-selling PC video game “Vanguard Princess” at Comic-Con International. The comic series explores the adventures and back story of the game’s main protagonist, the wooden sword wielding Yui Kutuna. The creative team behind both the “Vanguard Princess” comic book and video game will appear as special guests for autograph signings at eigoMANGA’s booth during Comic-Con International.
eigoMANGA will hold two live workshops at Comic-Con International. On Friday at 8pm, eigoMANGA will present a “How To Draw Manga” workshop. eigoMANGA editors will hold a tutorial workshop to teach the fundamentals of manga illustration and storytelling. They will also be on hand to critique portfolios from up-and-coming artists. On Sunday, July 22 at 12pm, eigoMANGA will instruct a “Manga Tutorials for Kids” workshop. The workshop at Room 11 will be moderated by eigoMANGA’s team of manga artists and animators as they offer kids of all ages tutorials on manga illustrations and storytelling.
