Home Con News SDCC 2017: Twelfth Wave of Comic-Con Special Guests – Adams, Chin, Stine,...

We’re approaching the final names to be announced for this years San Diego Comic-Con (held at the San Diego Convention Center over the weekend of 20th – 23rd July 2017; Preview Night Weds 19th): being the last Monday of April, this technically would have been the last date for Special Guest revelations but Comic-Con International have been held up a couple of weeks, what with Badge Sales, WonderCon, etc. Hey, they’ve been busy little bees! (And they’ve got the Hotel Sale to get out of the way this week, too, cut them some slack!)

Still, this does mean a few more names are to be revealed to join the already burgeoning roster of creative talent (Sergio Aragonés, Marguerite Bennett, Box Brown, Gail Carriger, Gemma Correll, Paul Dini, Mark Evanier, Brigitte Findakly, Roxane Gay, Melanie Gillman, Sarah Glidden, Mike Grell, Dean Hale, Nathan Hale, Shannon Hale, Simon Hanselmann, Robin Hobb, Charlie N. Holmberg, John Holmstrom, James Hudnall, Victoria Jamieson, Denis Kitchen, Jim Lee, Paul Levitz, Sonny Liew, Marjorie Liu, Jonathan Maberry, John Morrow, Dustin Nguyen, Keith Pollard, Eduardo Risso, Mike Royer, Brian Selznick, Eric Shanower, R. Sikoryak, Alex Simmons, Jeff Smith, Joe Staton, William Stout, J. Michael Straczynski, Maggie Thompson, Bruce Timm, and Lewis Trondheim, lest you need reminding.) So, here we go with four more names.

The latest additions are:

  • ARTHUR ADAMS: Artist: LONGSHOT; Writer/Artist:  MONKEYMAN AND O’BRIEN
  • JOYCE CHIN: Artist: MARVEL COMICS Covers, inc. AMERICA / DEADPOOL THE DUCK
  • RL. STINE: Author: GOOSEBUMPS Series / FEAR STREET
  • RON WILSON: Artist: THE THING / SUPER BOXERS

This brings our tally of Special Guests to forty-seven – who knows, CCI may be aiming for a nice round number of fifty so next Monday maybe the last batch… But who are we to predict what on Earth Comic-Con International have in store for us? They’ve always kept us guessing in the past!

As always, we’ve added these four to the listings on our dedicated Utility Belt pages –  do bookmark them to keep track of who you can see at this years convention, fingers crossed:
