SDCC 2017: Open Online Badge Registration – SATURDAY 8TH APRIL, 5pm GMT

A Tenth Wave of Special Guests have been announced this evening, and we were going to get snarky, that we could possibly have a huge chunk of the dignitaries presented before attendees could even know they have their badges. Well, hold on to that snark, gang – Comic-Con International are rolling out emails to those lucky people with appropriate Member ID’s in place, informing them of the arrival of the Con Date With Destiny ™: the San Diego Comic-Con Open Online Badge Registration will be taking place a week on Saturday. SATURDAY 8th APRIL, at 5PM GMT (that’s 9am PT and Midday ET, for the Colonials reading this).

The process will be identical to that undertaken by Expo Logic in recent years, with links to a Waiting Room being sent out to said Member ID holders, approx 48hrs prior to the Sale (as well as being made available on their Member ID page Registration tab), and that Waiting Room opening ONE HOUR prior to the Sale for people to shuffle into position and sit anxiously at their keyboards.

This is admittedly the more pressure-laden of the SDCC sales, what with odds stacked against those applying – there are hundreds of thousands of hopeful applicants, alongside those who took part in the Returning Registration Badge Sale, wanting to fill the gaps in their purchases. Badges have sold out within an hour in previous years and we don’t expect that to be any different this time round; however, there are methods for which people can be more prepared for the thing and information is always key. Hence, this useful video, prepared by CCI for the 2016 sale which should give you a visual guide of what to expect.
