The San Diego Comic-Con Unofficial Blog are reporting on the programming announcements made today by Syfy – and, boy, they’re rolling out the big gums. (Gums. Jaws. Because, Sharknado, right? Fuggedaboutit.)
Okay, yes, Sharknado will be of plenty interest because its particular brand of utter shiteness is appealing in much the same way an English McDonald’s will fill a hole, come the hangover – there’s also the fact that the show will be represented by the living legend which DAVID ‘MICHAEL KNIGHT’ HASSLEHOFF, which will always be a draw. (Oh, and also the show is written by a guy named Thunder. Thunder Levin. Look, who’s not going to be in the room for that?!)
This Dictionary Definition of ‘a guilty pleasure’ is not the only show that the channel will be bringing to San Diego Comic-Con for the first time.
Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! will be joined by Childhood’s End, 12 Monkeys, The Expanse, and Z Nation as SDCC debutants, while the lineup is completed by returning show Dominion. (Remember Dominion? That’s that series that Syfy pimped the living crap out of at its launch, came out and then faded almost instantly into obscurity. Shame, because it’s actually really bloody good. I blame the fact there’s no zombies or dragons in it.)
DAVID FREAKIN’ HASSLEHOFF!! Sorry, I just felt compelled to leave that there for you…
