Home Con News SDCC 2015: Pre-Registration Sale taking place in NOVEMBER; ’14 Badges to be...

logo - comic-con (distressed)Comic-Con International have updated their 2015 Pre-Registration page with more details about timetables for 2014 attendees to register their badges on their Member ID logins, as well as confirming, if not the exact date then certainly the ballpark of when the Pre-Reg Bage Sale will take place: “NOVEMBER”.

Seeing as previous updates gave us a time frame of ‘the Autumn’ – which meant the Badge Sale could’ve happened at any point from the middle of this month – this gives prospective applicants time to get themselves a little more prepared… And to save up, of course! The Badge Prices have been increased by five dollars for each of the days of the Con, meaning for a full weekend of the Con, plus Preview Night, is now going to come to $210 (or, around £127) – a full breakdown of this (along with a guide GBP conversion) is in the full release below. But, more importantly…

As we already knew, 2014 Badges would have to be registered with CCI but we weren’t sure how that would take place – now we do. Prospective applicants have to head to their Member ID login on the CCI website, head to the Registration Info tab and validate their badge; you have until 15th October to do so and only validated Member ID’s will be able to participate in the Pre-Reg Badge Sale. As soon as we hear on the exact date that will take place, you know where you can find us: you’ll know the second from when we know.

From the updated Comic-Con International web page (2nd September 2014, 1130 GMT)

Comic-Con 2015 Attendee Registration will open sometime in November 2014. Eligible attendees will be notified via email with the preregistration date and time at least 48 hours prior to the sale. Only those that have purchased a Comic-Con 2014 attendee badge, have a valid Member ID, and retain their actual Comic-Con 2014 badge will be eligible to participate in 2015 Attendee Preregistration. Professionals, guests of professionals, exhibitors, exhibitor purchased attendee badges, volunteers, staff, and press will not be allowed to participate in preregistration. Open Online Registration for the general public and all categories listed above will occur at a later date. If you did not attend Comic-Con 2014, you may participate in Open Online Registration.

*Important Change for 2015 Preregistration*
To be eligible to participate in Comic-Con 2015 Attendee Preregistration, you must validate your Comic-Con 2014 Badge ID prior to October 15, 2014. To validate your badge ID, simply log in to your Comic-Con Member ID account and select the “Registration Info” tab. There you will find instructions to complete your badge ID validation. REMEMBER: You must validate your Comic-Con 2014 Badge ID to be eligible to participate in Comic-Con 2015 Attendee Preregistration. If you do not validate your badge ID prior to October 15, 2014, you will not be allowed to participate in preregistration, even if you attended Comic-Con 2014 as a paid attendee.

Eligible attendees will be notified via email with preregistration instructions and information prior to the sale. The notification will be sent to the email associated with your Member ID account. Please be sure to “opt-in” to e-mail correspondence to receive the badge preregistration announcement. To check your Member ID notification opt-outs, log in to your account and select the option “OPT-OUTS” on the “My Account” tab. Make sure you have not checked the “Email Opt-Out” box.

**Children 12 and under are free with a paying adult. Juniors 13 -17 pay junior prices. Seniors 60 years or older pay the Military/Senior reduced price. Active Military with ID pay the Military/Senior price. This deal does not extend to dependents.

We strongly suggest that you sign in to your Member ID account and check your current “Membership Type.” If you are a senior or active duty member of the US military, please be sure to update your Membership Type before preregistration to be eligible for the reduced badge price.

The Preview Night badge option may only be purchased if you buy a Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday badge. Preview Night is not a stand alone badge option. As in 2014, if you purchase all four daily badges (Thursday through Sunday) they will automatically be converted to a 4-Day badge unless you select to opt-out of consolidation during online registration. You will not need to pick up each badge daily, they will be combined for you into one 4-Day badge when you arrive.

During preregistration you may purchase badges for up to THREE people total, yourself included.

  • Each individual you are buying for must be eligible for preregistration and they must have their own confirmed Comic-Con Member ID.
  • You will need the Member ID and last name for all individuals you are purchasing for.
  • You may not purchase badges for others using your own Comic-Con Member ID.

While Comic-Con has made every effort to make the badge purchase experience fair for everyone, it is possible that problems outside of our control could result in the system not working as planned. The possibility exists that anti-virus, anti-spyware, and anti-malware software may aggressively block browser cookies, JavaScript, or other operation of modern web applications. It is also possible that user error, specific hardware problems, local ISP issues, or simply the extremely high level of demand beyond our control may result in your computer and/or browser not behaving as described above. While Comic-Con has done extensive testing, we make no guarantees that your efforts will result in a successful badge purchase regardless of when you enter the process.

As always, we are sincerely grateful for your continued support and interest in our convention. We know that purchasing a badge can be a challenge and we are constantly exploring options to improve your registration experience. We will continue to offer deeply discounted rates for juniors, seniors, and active duty members of the military, as well as one of the most generous free child badge policies in the comic convention industry.
