CCI introduces new Child Pre-Registration guidelines for 2014

Comic-Con International addresses Child Badges for the Winter Preregistration – as well as suggesting when Preregistration may take place.

One contentious issue for Comic-Con International has always been how Child Badges are handled, in terms of age and Member ID eligibility – however, in an email being posted to Preregistration Attendees, the organisation are addressing which children are able to participate in the Preregistration badge sale by reminding those that are able to sign up for their own Member ID.

Dear Comic-Con 2013 Attendee,

Did your child attend Comic-Con 2013 and would like to be eligible for Comic-Con 2014 preregistration?

If yes, children who attended Comic-Con 2013 with a paid adult attendee and will be age 13 or older before November 1, 2013 are eligible for Comic-Con 2014 preregistration! To register for eligibility, you must have the physical Comic-Con 2013 child badge and select the appropriate option below.

OPTION ONE: My Child Already Has a Comic-Con Member ID

If your child already has a Comic-Con Member ID account, log in to their account and click the link toward the top of the page “If you attended Comic-Con 2013 as a child of a paid adult attendee, you must click here to qualify for 2014 badge preregistration.” Follow the online instructions to complete their eligibility registration.

OPTION TWO: My Child Does Not Have a Comic-Con Member ID

If your child has not yet created a Comic-Con Member ID, visit https://secure2.comic-con.org/memberid/ and select the option “New Member ID.” Be sure to select the Membership Type “Junior (13-17)” during the registration process.

After creating and confirming their Member ID, log back into the Member ID account and click the link toward the top of the page “If you attended Comic-Con 2013 as a child of a paid adult attendee, you must click here to qualify for 2014 badge preregistration.” Follow the online instructions to complete their eligibility registration.

The deadline to register for preregistration eligibility is November 4, 2013. Your child must complete one of the two options above on or before this date to be eligible to participate in Comic-Con 2014 preregistration.

One item of note in this email is the inclusion of a 4th November 2013 deadline, in time for the November/December Preregistration Badge Sale timeframe announced by CCI in August – this is a change from the previous announcement of the 1st November.

Admittedly, it make take some time to administrate any children applying for Member ID’s but this is suggesting that a Sale date has already been determined, perhaps taking place sooner rather than later in that period, possibly in the first few weeks of November.
