Whether it’s to cosplay their favourite films and shows, attend the panels of the voice talent or gather in clandestine groups in the food courts to tear into every facet of the genre, anime fans come out of the woodwork at UK cons. And this summer, MCM Expo are giving them an extra special reason to do so.

Maile Flanagan, the voice of iconic anime ninja Naruto Uzamaki, will be coming to the UK from the United States to meet fans and sign autographs at both the MCM Manchester Comic Con, which takes place at the Manchester Central exhibition center on the 25th and 26th July, and MCM Scotland Comic Con, held at the SECC in Glasgow on the 26th and 27th September. Maile will also be appearing in on-stage panels to talk about her extensive back catalogue of work at both events – no doubt, the amount of yellow spiky-haired wigs and orange jumpsuits in attendance will be through the roof!

From the MCM Expo press release:

Since taking on the role of Naruto in 2005, Maile Flanagan has played the hot-blooded über ninja in more than 200 episodes of Naruto and over 275 episodes of sequel series Naruto: Shippuden, as well as appearing in numerous spin-off feature films and games.

In addition to voicing one of anime’s most famous protagonists, Maile’s live action appearances include US sitcom Lab Rats, Jim Carrey comedy Yes Man and acclaimed indie rom-com (500) Days of Summer. She has also voiced characters in animations such as Rango, Ice Age 3 and kids’ cartoon Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks, for which she scooped a Daytime Emmy Award.
