Aliens invade Excel as London Comic Con plays host to ‘Monsters: Dark Continent’
Get ready for an alien invasion! Monsters: Dark Continent is coming to MCM London Comic Con, with cast and crew from the upcoming sci-fi film all set to attend this month’s event at Excel London. Executive produced by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla, Monsters), Monsters: Dark Continent is the much anticipated follow up to Edwards’ own 2010 hit Monsters and is the debut feature from Tom Green (Misfits).
Green, together with stars Johnny Harris (This Is England ’86 & ’88, London To Brighton) and Joe Dempsie (Game Of Thrones, Skins), will be hosting a panel on the film at 12:00am on Saturday 25 October. In addition, the Monsters: Dark Continent stand will be located in the South Hall of London Comic Con throughout the three days of the show, providing visitors with more information on the film, trailers and free giveaways – plus an exclusive opportunity to win a signed prop from the movie.
Set in the Middle East ten years after Monsters, Dark Continent follows four fresh army recruits sent to rescue a group of soldiers lost deep in an Infected Zone. The young troops embark on a life-altering mission into the heart of monster country – a mission that will see them pitted against the true horrors of eradicating the alien threat.
Alongside Johnny Harris and Joe Dempsie, Monsters Dark Continent stars Sam Keeley, (forthcoming Ron Howard feature Heart Of The Sea), Kyle Soller (Anna Karenina), Parker Sawyers (Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit) and Nicholas Pinnock (Captain America: The First Avenger). The screenplay is written by Jay Basu and Tom Green.
Out-of-this-world scares as ‘Extraterrestrial’ lands at London Comic Con
There’ll be close encounters of the terrifying kind at MCM London Comic Con as cult horror duo The Vicious Brothers (Grave Encounters) give show visitors an early viewing of their latest movie Extraterrestrial ahead of its 29 October UK cinema debut. The Vicious Brothers will be hosting an on-stage panel before the screening of the scare-filled teen shocker, which will take place from 1500-1700 on the Sunday of the Comic Con.
Still reeling from her parents‘ divorce, April (Brittany Allen – Defiance, Dead Before Dawn) returns to the vacation cabin where she spent fond summers as a child with a group of her friends. But April’s trip down memory lane takes a dramatic and terrifying turn when a fireball plunges out of the sky and explodes in nearby woodland.
Led by April’s boyfriend (Freddie Stroma – Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince, Pitch Perfect), the group venture out to the crash site, only to discover the remnants of a ship from another planet …along with footprints that suggest its alien occupants are still very much alive. The college friends soon find themselves trapped in the middle of something bigger and more terrifying than they ever thought possible.
