The ICE – International Comics Expo is almost upon us: thousand of avid comics fans will be descending on Birmingham this weekend, for their sins, for two days of celebration of some incredible artists and writers. But, for some hardcore fanatics with deep enough pockets, they could be taking home with them more than just a chance meeting or a scribble on their favourite comic.
As part of the convention, organiser Shane Chebsey has marshalled some world-class talent to donate lots for this years CBCS Charity Auction, due to take place on the Saturday evening of ICE 2016. Artists the likes of as Jock, John McCrea, Duncan Fegredo and Juan Albarran have put forward some incredible items to bid on, all to raise money for this years chosen charity Beanstalk, an organization dedicated to support literacy in young people.
Check out these incredible pieces – and then die inside a little as you realise you’ll possibly not be able to afford how much they’ll, quite rightfully, go for:
I know, right? My wallet is melting just thinking about some of these. Excuse me while I just have a cry over here in the corner. [ugly, messy sobs] *sniff* Anyway, where was I…?
The Auction will be held from 4pm in the Inspire panel room and hosted by the one and only Peter Doherty (2000AD) – there won’t just be this incredible bounty up for grabs as plenty of additional spot lots are to be introduced, including contributions from the likes of Charlie Adlard, John Wagner and more… If you’re interested in following along with the action of the sale – and why wouldn’t you be? – make sure you watch, via our Facebook Live feed, on our FB page. And, of course, all the final tallies will be listed on the Auctions’ Event Page as well, no doubt.
Going once, going twice…!
