Home Con News EM-CON 2018: Star Trek Next Gen cast / Green Ranger, confirmed Special...

EM-Con head honchos Lee Wallis and Tony Welsh took to Facebook Live tonight to cover all the questions of the dedicated fans of the convention – including  the news that a STAR WARS Landspeeder and TRANSFORMERS Bumblebee Camaro would be on display at the next big event on their calendar (which is EM-Con Skegness, being held at the Embassy Theater on Sunday 23rd July), and also to field all the suggestions for future Special Guests to their events.

Thank goodness, then that they were able to sate some of that anticipation by announcing three of the international talent, coming to Nottingham next year (Saturday 5th – Sunday 6th May, 2018). And it’s great news if you’re either a STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION fan, or a MIGHTY MORPHIN’ POWER RANGERS fan, because all three are main players of the two franchises:

  • DENISE CROSBY is most famous for playing Chief Security Officer Tasha Yar on the first season of ST:TNG, before returning in the third season as a resurrected version of Yar from an alternate timeline and as her own half-Romulan daughter Sela, a product of that alternate timeline. She is also known as a successful character actress, appearing in such films and TV as 48 HRS, DEEP IMPACT, THE X-FILES and Quentin Tarantino‘s JACKIE BROWN.

  • LEVAR BURTON is the actor behind the visor of Commander Geordi La Forge on all seven seasons of ST:TNG, as well as the subsequent Next gen films of the STAR TREK franchise. He first made his impact on audiences in the award-winning mini-series ROOTS, as well as appearances on FANTASY ISLAND, MURDER SHE WROTE and a role as the host of one of the longest-running children’s programs in the US, READING RAINBOW, the educational role of which he returns to, even today.

  • JASON DAVID FRANK, the legendary Green Ranger of the MIGHTY MORPHIN’ POWER RANGERS – Tommy Oliver – follows the incredibly popular appearances of Walter Jones and David Yost at this years EM-Con Nottingham. Frank, who is also an accomplished martial artist in Shotokan Karate, Ju-Jitsu and other disciplines, is a massive fan favourite and is sure to be a huge draw for those who will be wanting to meet-and-greet on what proves to be a rare trip to the UK for the actor.

Exciting stuff!

I’m just crossing my fingers and hoping that I will be invited back as the Q&A Panel Moderator for next years event as this is an incredible roster of talent to kick off the Special Guest announcements for the show. Follow EM-Con on Facebook to keep up-to-date with their usually epic and in-depth Live video feeds, as well as following them on Twitter.

And, of course, you can buy your tickets for the show, nice and early, to avoid any disappointment down the line – with guests like Crosby, Burton and Frank on the guest list, I fully expect tickets to sell sooner rather than later.
