Home Con News SDCC OFF-SITE: Nerd HQ announces Conversations For A Cause Panel Guests

Nerd HQ is run by The Nerd Machine and held concurrently to San Diego Comic-Con – while not in association with the Main Event itself, this massively popular free off-site event, held on the other side of the tracks, manages to attract some of the biggest names in pop culture, thanks to the immense charm of The Nerd Machine’s founder, Zachary Levi.

Returning for a second year at San Diego’s Petco Park, Nerd HQ will once again be running its Conversations For A Cause panels, putting a small, intimate audience of paying Muggles in the same room as the Beautiful People and allowing them to bask in their awesomeness for a spell – all while raising money for a worthy cause, Operation Smile.

With the Conversations For A Cause panels rooms only seating just over 300 people, these are tough tickets to land but it does mean you are up and personal with the celebs – and it’ll only cost you just under thirteen quid per ticket ($22 per ticket; two tickets per order, multiple orders allowed. Like you’ll get another crack of the whip if you get in! Many LOL’s!)

Panels are being added left, right and centre but, thanks to the iOS and Android app, the initial lineup for the Conversations have now been announced – Zachary Levi and his Nerd Machine Partner-In-Crime David Coleman are still working tirelessly to add more names to the bill and, as revealed on an interview with the San Diego Comic-Con Unofficial Blog, event favourite/Nerd Prince Nathan Fillion is confirmed to appear, just not when that panel is taking place. More on that panel – to which getting tickets will resemble carnage of a biblical nature – when it’s finally announced. Keep an eye on our Twitter for updates on that.

It’s a strong line-up already, mind, with highlights including cast members from The Walking Dead, Resurrection, The Invaders, ‘Twister-de-jour’ movie Into The Storm and foul-mouthed buddy comedy flick Let’s Be Cops, along with Craig Ferguson, Evangeline Lilly, Zachary Levi himself and, oh yeah, on the Sunday some bloke by the name of Joss Whedon who, no doubt, will still be riding high off the back of a hugely successful Saturday Hall H panel for Marvel Studios. And again, a reminder: there’s more to come – we know that Levi is still trying to bag that big whale Cumberbatch…
