SCROLL DOWN TO FIND OUT HOW YOU CAN WIN A PAIR OF TICKETS TO THIS INCREDIBLE CONCERT!
If there’s one man who has soundtracked many generations of not just nerd culture but mainstream pop culture in general, it’s the legend that is John Williams. He’s been the muse for film directors, epic sports / news segment producers and Oscar speech-playoff-orchestrators for decades; his scores are simply indelible and iconic, from RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK to HARRY POTTER, from SUPERMAN to JURASSIC PARK, to STAR WARS… feckin’ STAR WARS, guys! STAR! WARS! It’s the movie theme that walks up with a swagger and simply slaps down all other movie themes…
It’s all stirring stuff – and Williams aficionados will be able to enjoy a selection of his most incredible music during this years San Diego Comic-Con and performed by some of the best musicians on the planet, as the San Diego Symphony will be taking to the stage at the Copley Symphony Hall in the Jacobs Music Center on Saturday 22nd July 2017, under the baton of conductor Gemma New, in a special presentation entitled REBELS, RAIDERS AND SUPERMEN: THE MUSIC OF JOHN WILLIAMS.
This promises to be a truly fun and enjoyable affair as, while the main concert doesn’t start until 7.30pm, there is also going to be a ‘Plan B’ pre-concert gathering, featuring Cantina Band music, special STAR WARS-themed cocktails and a costume contest, with cosplay not only welcomed but highly encouraged! How friggin’ cool is that? The atmosphere in that room is going to be electrifying!
And it’s not bank-breaking, either, with tickets priced at between only $20 and $35 – that’s an ideal way to wrap up what I’m guaranteeing will be a pretty packed Saturday of SDCC. Sit back, open your ears (and heart) and rock out to some of the most uplifting signature themes in movie history. Bargain.
Tickets are on sale now at the San Diego Symphony website, HERE, and I guarantee will sell out in sharp order – if you are wanting to get your Williams on this Comic-Con, I’d not dawdle and book your tickets today.
(The only downside for me is, with all the big anthems that the San Diego Symphony will be choosing, and with the extensive repertoire in the Williams back catalogue – six decades of life-affirming music, lest we forget – many favourites will get shuffled down the pecking order and left off the playlist. Like my personal JW jam, for example:
