At this weekends New York Comic ConPop Culture Hero Coalition will be hosting a panel on Friday that will bring a few celebrities and national experts together to “to make a stand for bullied kids.” Some of the stars who will be on the panel include Ricky Whittle & Pablo Schreiber (from AMERICAN GODS), Chase Masterson (from STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE), and more.

Celebrities from STAR TREK, SUPERNATURAL and AMERICAN GODS are teaming up with national experts to make a stand for bullied kids at New York Comic-Con at the Javits Center this weekend: October is National Bullying Prevention Month.

Captain America knocked out Hitler, and we are SuperheroIRL — knocking out racism, misogyny, bullying, LGBTQIA-bullying and cyberbullying! We love superheroes — why not be one?

The event is created by Pop Culture Hero Coalition, the first 501c3 to use TV, comics and film to make a stand against bullying, racism, misogyny, LGBTQIA-bullying and cyberbullying. The Coalition works in schools, comic-cons and communities, using stories kids find relatable.

“We have been told our work at comic-cons is saving lives,” said Coalition Founder Chase Masterson. “This event provides a forum for us to reach the most vulnerable people attending Comic-Con and remind them that they are not alone, that they have greatness in them, just like the characters they love,” added Co-Founder Carrie Goldman, author of Harper Collins’ award-winning Bullied: What Every Parent, Teacher and Kid Needs to Know About Ending the Cycle of Fear.

Coalition Outreach Partners have included the United Nations Association, the NOH8 Campaign, the Anti-Defamation League, GLSEN, the Trevor Project, the Geena Davis Institute for Gender in Media and Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence.
