Home Con News D23: Disney announce 2017 dates for Fan Expo – 14th-16th July, Anaheim...

logo - d23 disney expo (thumbnail)Looks like if you’re a Disney/Marvel fan, next July is going to be an embarrassment of riches for you convention attendees, wanting to see the latest announcements from the company rolled out on stage, as it looks like San Diego Comic-Con and Disney’s D23 Expo are going to be back-to-back next summer.

We already have a pencilled date for SDCC 2017 at the San Diego Convention Center – 20th-23rd July 2017as revealed on our very own Google+ page and still in place as of press, but today Disney tweeted the details of their shindig, to be held at the Anaheim Convention Centre the weekend before: 14th-16th July 2017.

This puts Southern California very much in the centre of the pop culture universe for a whole fortnight – and once again raising questions about how much the company will hold back for their own event over San Diego. And, as contributor Mark Searby points out, it also raises the interesting question about the yet-to-be-announced dates for ReedPOP‘s Star Wars Celebration, the party for Disney’s other big multimedia acquisition. And, of course, for us international jetsetters, there’s the not-so-small matter of our own big convention, London Film & Comic Con, from Showmasters. 2017 is shaping up to be a busy, busy, BUSY summer…

Your thoughts? Are you tempted to do both events, back-to-back? Could such an endeavour break you like a Hulkbuster?! Comments below – let us know if you’re feeling Brave or whether such a prospect leaves you Tangled (you see what we did there)…
